How to Survive a Hurricane
Hurricanes, as most people agree, are killers, sometimes killing people like a wildfire. Read this post to know what to do if you are captured in a hurricane.
Hurricane Preparedness
For a hurricane, if you are not sure if one is going to be coming for you, make sure you keep your eye on the weather forecast and the news. In addition to that, you should close and lock all doors, windows, and shutters because of flying debris. You should also unplug all appliances and electronics because they can shock you if lightning strikes. In addition to all of this, you should also turn off propane tanks and put your refrigerator to the coldest setting to keep refrigerated items colder and fresher for longer periods of time. You should also go to the highest floor of a building, but do not go into an attic because they usually only have 1 exit and entrance in them and have no windows.
In addition to all of this, you should also have water (enough for at least 3 days), easy-to-prepare food (also bring enough for at least 3 days), and light (flashlights, batteries, radios would be needed)
*EAS (Emergency Alert System) alarm would go off if a hurricane is in your area. Also, a hurricane watch is when a hurricane may come in your area, and a hurricane warning is when a hurricane is in your area. It will also tell you if you need to evacuate or not.
